Communities Near Garrison Edmonton:

If your Posted to CFB Edmonton,. there plenty of amazing communities nearby, including the City of St. Albert which is less than 15 kms from Edmonton Garrison. Within the Sturgeon County area, here are the top neighborhoods, closest to the Base :

1. Akinsdale:

Top spot as the most affordable housing prices and has the quickest access to get in and out of the city. Established in the late 70s, you will find a selection of bungalows, bi-levels, and four-level splits. The majority of Akinsdale features low-density residential with a plethora of green space and large public parks.

2. Woodlands / Pineview:

These two areas were developed in the 70s - 80s, featuring a similar style of houses as Akinsdale but also a selection of 2-story homes. Pineview, has larger homes built on larger lots. These two communities combined have multiple schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including francophone catholic junior and senior high schools. Woodlands not only has an extensive network of paved pathways it's also the closest neighborhood to CFB Edmonton.

3. Erin Ridge / Oakmount:

If you like newer homes, this is going to be where you will want to be looking.

Erin Ridge includes the Sturgeon Community Hospital and has easy access to the newest northern commercial development of amenities in St. Albert including groceries, retail, food and Costco.
